1. Make High Quality Medical Resources Sink

In Jin Xiaotao's view, the most important change that 5G brings to medical and health undertakings will be to solve the problem ofdifficult and expensive medical treatment, and promote the sinking of high-quality medical resources to ordinary people. ‘In China and even developed countries, the dilemma of limited high-quality medical resources is widespread. Relying on advanced cutting-edge technologies such as 5G artificial intelligence technology, doctors can carry out remote diagnosis and treatment, so as to make high-quality medical resources sink and benefit the people in remote and backward areas.‘ Jin Xiaotao said that this will help to improve the relationship between doctors and patients, alleviate the problem of insufficient high-quality medical resources, and provide the possibility to solve the chronic disease of‘difficult and expensive medical treatment’.

With the promotion of 5G and other advanced technologies, the prospect of intelligent health care is expected.‘Smart health care is based on health care big data, supported by Internet, cloud computing, quantum information and other advanced technologies, and provide health care management services covering the whole life cycle, all-round life and the whole production process, so as to realize the precision, personalization, scientization, visualization and intellectualization of health care. Therefore, a good job in the basic work, that is, the collection, storage, mining and application of health and medical data, should be done well.’ Said Jin Xiaotao.


However,‘5G+ healthcare’still faces many challenges. One of the most prominent problem is the technical problem. For example, the medical facilities (including nasal tube for oxygen, nursing scissors, etc) of primary medical institutions are backward, and the level of informatization and medical treatment is still low. What's more, how do the doctors who do remote surgery cooperate with 5G and ensure the quality of surgery? After all, they are not on the scene. Sometimes an inaccurate posture or gesture will bring different effects and impacts, even life-threatening.


Data standardization is the bottleneck to promote and standardize the application and development of health care big data. Data standardization involves unifying the names of diseases and standardizing terms. Data standardization, structure and normalization are the basis for the application of health care big data and the development of smart health care.

2. Accelerate the Promotion of Joint Innovation

In order to solve the above problems, the joint innovation of relevant departments, the government's investment, the active participation of the society, the understanding and support of the people, the intervention of market forces and international exchanges are necessary. In order to promote the integrated development of health care industry, the close cooperation of communication technology, software services, network providers, relevant departments and industries are needed with 5G, and the integration development speed from the aspects of technology, service, management, people and property will be accelerated.


The work of data standardization is also advancing. Jin Xiaotao disclosed that the society of the China health information and health care big data  is studying and formulating relevant standards. It is expected to launch some standards including the mining, application and remote service of medical and health data by the end of next year.


‘5G can not be applied to medical services without the cooperation of the people.‘ Jin Xiaotao added,‘With the explosive growth of health demand, science popularization education for the people should also keep up with it. First of all, patients should correctly evaluate the relationship between medical care and health. Health needs the protection of high-quality medical resources (including high-quality medical devices, such as heavy weighted speculum, oxymizer nasal cannula, forceps tissue, etc.), but no matter how good the doctor is, he can not cure all kinds of diseases. Secondly, there is a process of disease cure and optimal allocation of medical resources, which need to be treated rationally. At present, China has more discourse power in 5G field, but there are still many deficiencies in basic research. 5G development needs to strengthen international exchanges. For technologies that lack initiative, win-win cooperation should be actively strove for. Active innovation and breakthroughs should be made in technologies being controlled by others.
